How To Copy Apps From One Shield To Another
Get more storage for your Android TV
If you need more space on your Android TV, you can remove some of your apps and games. You can also connect a USB drive.
Note: The steps below may not work for all TVs that run Android TV.
Add space by removing apps or games
Add space with a USB drive
You can connect a USB drive to your Android TV to add more space for apps and other content.
Set up your drive
Format your drive
Android TV only supports drives with FAT formats. After you connect your drive, Android TV will check the format.

- If Android TV can recognize the format: It sets the drive up as removable storage.
- If Android TV can't recognize the format: It asks you to format the drive as internal or removable storage.
After your format is decided, follow the instructions from your Android TV.

- Internal storage: You can store more data on your Android TV. You can't move your data anywhere else.
- Removable storage: You can move content on the drive to another device. Apps and games can't be moved.

To keep your content safe, eject your drive before you unplug it from your Android TV.
- On your Android TV, go to the Home screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings .
- Under "Device," select Storage and reset .
- Select your USB drive Eject.
After you eject your drive from your Android TV, you won't be able to see or use the apps stored on it.

- On your Android TV, go to the Home screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings .
- Under "Device," select Storage and reset .
- Select your USB drive.
